OUR SKATING PROGRAMS

The programs offered range from the very beginning stages of skating right up to and including highly competitive skating. Many of our members have been with the club from the time they were in CanSkate. Many of the older members now share their expertise by assisting our club coaches as amateur coaches, much to the delight of the younger skaters.

The Cheam Skating Club offers programs at Twin Rinks in Sardis and the Prospera Centre (winter session only) in Chilliwack. We have music facilities at both facilities and designated office spaces. Cheam Skating Club has GOLD level status in club rankings.

VOLUNTEER DEPOSIT

Our skating club couldn't run without our many volunteers. Volunteering provides a great way to learn about the sport of skating and meet other skating families. There are numerous opportunities to volunteer in events such as ice shows, local competitions, and representing our club in various community events. You can find more information about volunteering on the Cheam Skating Club board at Twin Rinks.

We invite your family to participate by volunteering for four hours during our fall/winter sessions. We will collect a postdated cheque, made payable to Cheam Skating Club for $200.00, on the first day of your child(ren)'s session. At the end of June families that have completed their four hours will have their cheques returned to them. Cheques from families that did not volunteer will be deposited to the Skater Development Fund, which helps offset the costs of out-of-town competition expenses.

Please note: The volunteer program is for parents with children in Jr Academy and competitive skating. One postdated cheque per family. If you have multiple children in the club, you only need to provide one cheque. The postdated cheque is considered part of registration and your child will not be allowed on the ice if it is not handed in. (To be implemented in the 2022/23 season)
