CHEAM SKATING CLUB INFORMATION
Skate Canada Membership Fee
All skaters, whether they are members of the Cheam Skating Club or not, must register with Skate Canada for the current skating year. The annual $58.65 Skate Canada membership fee must be included with payment unless the fee has already been paid through another Skate Canada sanctioned club. Membership year is from September 1 to August 31. This fee is non-refundable.
Payment of Skating Fees
Full payment of skating fees must be included with all registrations, or they will not be processed.
Returned Cheques
A $25.00 service fee will be charged for each returned cheque.
Refunds
The Cheam Skating Club does not offer refunds except in the case of medical circumstances. You must submit a written request to the executive requesting a refund. Refunds will be considered on a case by case basis. If granted, the refund will be pro-rated from the date of the last day skated and a ice credit will be issued. No cash refunds will be given.
Selling and Trading Seasons
Skaters are not permitted to sell or trade sessions. If you miss your regular session on a particular day, you may not skate on another session in lieu of the one you missed without paying a buy-on fee. You may not have another skater or member of your family skate on sessions for days that you are away without paying a buy-on fee.
What Season Fees Include
CanSkate, Jr. Academy, and StarSkate/Competitive include instruction by a Skate Canada qualified professional coach.
Session Qualifications
Skaters are expected to skate on the sessions for which they are qualified. If skating up by the coach's recommendation, it must be approved by the executive first. If it is deemed to be unsafe for the skater, or other skaters on the ice, the executive may remove the skater from the session.
On Ice Rules - Freeskate Session Rules
Soloists have the right of way. Other skaters must avoid undue interference with the soloist, and the soloist must also keep an alert eye open. When the jump harness is in use, the skater in it has the harness right of way over the soloist. All skaters are expected to take part in the group lessons, if it is included in their session.
On Ice Rules - Dance Session Rules
Skaters in a lesson dancing to the music being played have the right of way. Skaters dancing to the specific music being played have second priority. Freeskating and skills are not permitted

Soloists have the right of way. Other skaters must avoid undue interference with the soloist, and the soloist must also keep an alert eye open. Session Buy On Rates and Rules
From time to time, skaters may choose to skate on a session for which they are not registered. The buy-on rates which includes coaching is:

Each session must be paid to the coach or an executive member before the skater steps on the ice.
Buy-On full session time only valid (for day) at time of purchase - nontransferable.
Cheam Skating Club is a closed club.
A freelance coach may apply to the Director of Skating for coaching privileges at Cheam Skating Club. If approved, proof of qualifications, a signed club agreement and a recommendation from the Director of Skating will be submitted to the Executive for final approval.
