Once a skater has completed our Jr. Achiever program, they may start taking private lessons with a coach. The Cheam Skating Club offers our skaters: Freeskate, stroking, spin patch, skills and dance sessions. Coaches offer private and group lessons, teaching all the disciplines. It is up to the parent to contact a club coach of their choice and make arrangements for these sessions.
Once the skater has a coach, parents and skaters meet with the coach and discuss the days and times the skater wishes to skate, and the number and type of lessons the coach is able to provide.
Parents are responsible for paying for the ice fees, registration fees amd coaching fees. Coaching fees are generally charged in increments of time(ie., 15/20 or 30 minute lessons), which can be group or private. Private lessons are billed to the individual skaters. Coaches will inform you what their rates are. These rates are based on the individual coaches experience as a past skater, and years of teaching, and coaching level(education) they may have obtained with Skate Canada. Rates range between $8.00 and $11.00 for 15 minute lessons
We accept students who would like to skate woth our Club that have done municiple or school skating, skaters transfering form another club, and new skaters that would like to join our club
