Is a national program designed by Skate Canada and used as a learn-to-skate program, designed for beginners of all ages. On the first session the skater will be assessed and placed in a group according to their ability. Our CanSkate program teaches the "proper way" to skate through a series of levels that the skater learns at their own pace. Skaters are taught by a NCCP certified coach(s) and Program Assistant(s), when available. When you sign up for CanSkate you will be in a program that has 6 different levels, with an optioanl 7th level. This program focuses on fun, participation and basic skill development. They will learn foward and backward skating, stopping, turning and many other skills to build a solid foundation for all types of skating. Within this program skaters will receive badges when they complete each level. Helmets are mandatory until the skater has successfully completed level 5. This program runs 45 minutes.
