The Club History
The Cheam Skating Club is a non-profit club that has been in existence since 1968. During this time it has helped thousands of Chilliwack and area children learn to skate, with many carrying on to skate competitively both in hockey and in figure skating. We are proud to be a member club with both Skate Canada and Sport BC.
What We Offer
The programs offered range from the very beginning stages of skating right up to and including highly competitive skating. Many of our members have been with the club from the time they were in CanSkate. Many of the older members now share their expertise by assisting our club coaches as amateur coaches, much to the delight of the younger skaters.
The Cheam Skating Club offers programs at Twin Rinks in Sardis and the Prospera Centre (winter session only) in Chilliwack. We have music facilities at both facilities and designated office spaces.
Biannually, our club produces a Carnival to celebrate our skaters. We have also introduced the Showcase event, which alternates with the Carnival. These events are the highlight of the year for the kids. It is a great opportunity for our skaters to feel like stars as they perform for family, friends and the community.
